Praying: Jesus, do more through me!
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, be glory in the Church…”
Let’s play an imagination game. (Some of you hate this article already. Ha!)
1. Make a note of all of the ways you are currently serving Jesus.
Ex. I try to be a good dad. Feed my family. Lead a small group. And tip well after meals.
2. Now try to imagine what it would look like for Jesus to do more through you.
Now remember I said “Jesus” do more and not “You” do more. Now I am not denying that Jesus may actually want some of us to do more, but that is not the main point of this. The goal is to begin imagining what it would look like if we were really asking for Jesus to empower us in all areas of life (Eph. 3:16). Hear that? Power!
What if Jesus really did do more through you as you: parent, exercise your spiritual gifts in serving His Church, did your job, interacted with co-workers, engaged with your neighbors.
Paul says that God has power to do far more than you can imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Will you begin to pray and ask Jesus to do more through you?
As you pray this prayer in regards to serving our church family, you may want to consider these service opportunities.
Will you ask Jesus to help you re-imagine a life and ministry the way He does? Will you ask Him to do more through you?
