Backpack Friends

Backpack Friends delivers backpacks filled with food every weekend to children whose primary source of nutrition is the school cafeteria. We support this ministry with our Backpack Friends campaign which specifically benefits the children in our community at Wieland Elementary. Support Backpack Friends by contributing to our Food Drive.

The Storehouse

The Storehouse ministers to the hungry in our community by providing for their spiritual and physical needs. This ministry provides food for people in need through its food pantry and prayer and relational support through the prayer counseling ministry.

Volunteer Opportunities:
  • Four Food Distribution Volunteers needed each day, Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 2pm to put food bags together and distribute food to people who need assistance.
  • Three Prayer Counselors needed each day, Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 2pm to pray with the individuals and offer spiritual and emotional support to those in need.
  • Spanish Speaking Adults needed every day.

Hill Country Bible Church Pflugerville is one of those churches that is being used to help the hungry children of the world.

Kairos Prison Ministry

kairos logoThe Kairos Program consists of: Team Formation, The Weekend, Instructional Reunion, Prayer-and-Share Group Fellowship, Monthly Reunion, and Two-Day Retreat. Activities take place in Lockhart. Women form the "Inside Team," men and women form the "Outside Team." Teams are formed twice a year beginning June and December.

Ways you can serve include prayer support, baking cookies, designing posters, making place mats, writing letters and financial support.
